About Hillsborough Comprehensive Treatment Center in Hillsborough, NC
Located in Hillsborough, North Carolina, Hillsborough Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older. Medication-assisted treatment is an evidence-based and research-backed treatment method that has been offered at methadone clinics for decades. MAT combines the use of prescription medications with counseling services to help people address the physical and psychological aspects of opioid addiction. Many people have found lifelong recovery by participating in MAT, and we are proud to now offer this service for the people of Hillsborough and surrounding communities.
We provide comprehensive opioid addiction treatment for people who are struggling with addictions to heroin, fentanyl, prescription pain medications, and other opioids. Our outpatient clinic serves all of Orange County, North Carolina, and is easily accessible from many cities in the area. We believe that by choosing to take part in an opioid addiction treatment program like MAT, people can make strides toward a healthier, more productive future.
At our clinic, we offer prescriptions for medications that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treating opioid use disorder, which is the clinical term for opioid addiction. The specific medications that are offered as part of MAT vary depending on the CTC but may include methadone, Suboxone®, buprenorphine, Sublocade, and Vivitrol. We prescribe medication for each patient based on their medical history and current mental and physical health. Our CTC also offers group and individual counseling sessions where patients can share their experiences with their peers and receive encouragement from professionals.
Our CTC offers flexible care options on an outpatient basis, which makes it easy for patients to fulfill their daily responsibilities while receiving treatment. Unlike with some opioid addiction treatment centers where patients have to live on-site, patients at our CTC can go to work, attend school, and live at home throughout the treatment process.
We believe that individuals are more likely to remain in opioid addiction treatment and have successful outcomes if they are treated with respect and dignity. At Hillsborough CTC, we make every effort to maintain a safe and supportive setting where patients can build a solid foundation for the future.
Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction
Medication-assisted treatment is a highly effective form of care for individuals who are struggling with opioid use disorder. When a person receives MAT from a qualified provider, they can experience an array of emotional, social, and physical benefits. The medications we offer at Hillsborough CTC can help ease the negative effects of opioid withdrawal. Furthermore, these medications can help alleviate cravings for opioids that can occur when someone stops using opioids after a period of dependence.
Medications like methadone have been a well-known treatment option for opioid addiction for decades. However, many people may be unaware of the role counseling can play in helping people on their recovery journeys. A key part of outpatient opioid addiction treatment at our CTC is individual and group therapy sessions with professionals. These therapy sessions provide patients with an opportunity to explore their experiences with addiction, learn healthy coping strategies, and practice relapse prevention skills.
People who receive medication-assisted treatment at our clinic can experience numerous positive outcomes. Not only does taking part in MAT help prevent relapse, but it increases someone’s chances of remaining in treatment and can enhance their psychological well-being. Individuals who receive MAT are also more likely to maintain gainful employment, have stable relationships, and be in good physical health.
What To Expect at Our Hillsborough, North Carolina, Methadone Clinic
If you are struggling with an opioid addiction, it might feel challenging or overwhelming to find the treatment center that suits your needs. At Hillsborough CTC, we want to provide prospective patients and their loved ones with a clear understanding of the services and support we offer so that the decision to receive care with us can be an easy one.
At our outpatient clinic, individuals can begin the admissions process by completing a thorough assessment with a member of our team. This assessment helps us gain insight into the person’s background, current needs, and therapeutic goals. Prospective patients also fill out paperwork, complete a urine drug screening, and consult with a clinical staff member. We encourage each person to ask questions during the admissions process and be an active participant in their care.
Once this process is complete, a person can begin receiving medication-assisted treatment. Our intake staff takes the information collected during the assessment and uses it to create a customized treatment plan for each patient. This care plan outlines the medication and counseling services a patient can expect to receive during their time with us.
At our methadone clinic near Durham, we offer clinically excellent opioid addiction treatment for adults age 18 and older. Patients receive MAT medications from qualified medical professionals who monitor patients’ responses to medications and can adjust their dosages if necessary. When a person does not receive professional help, opioid withdrawal can be a distressing and painful experience, and our team is available to make sure that patients are safe and comfortable during this process.
At Hillsborough CTC, we are committed to serving our patients even after they complete opioid addiction treatment with us. When someone is ready to be discharged from our MAT program, we ensure that they have the necessary tools and resources to continue to be successful on their recovery journey. This may involve connecting them with traditional counseling services within the community so that they can receive ongoing support from licensed professionals.
Additionally, some patients may benefit from taking part in a different level of care or receiving additional services. In such cases, we can provide referrals to other treatment programs or healthcare providers who can offer specialized care that is tailored to their individual needs.
Value of Individual Therapy & Substance Abuse Group Therapy
At Hillsborough CTC, we understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach for treating opioid use disorder. Everyone who participates in our medication-assisted treatment program progresses through care at their own pace. Each individual’s needs, goals, and progress determine the length of time they take part in MAT at our clinic. Regardless of how long someone is in our MAT program, they receive personalized support every step of the way.
Patients at our CTC participate in regularly scheduled counseling sessions with qualified experts. In individual sessions, patients have the opportunity to discuss concerns with a mental health professional in a safe and confidential setting. These one-on-one conversations can be a powerful tool for helping someone gain insights into triggers, emotions, and root causes of opioid addiction.
Group therapy offers similar benefits as individual counseling. However, patients in group therapy have the added benefit of interacting with their peers in a structured and supervised setting. In groups, patients can offer support to and receive encouragement from others who may have had similar experiences. This can be a vital aspect of someone’s healing process and alleviate feelings of isolation.
In groups, patients can provide each other with accountability, discuss different relapse prevention techniques, and practice coping strategies. Group therapy also provides an opportunity for patients to grow social skills, forge relationships with like-minded individuals, and offer feedback to each other. Participating in discussions in group therapy sessions can allow individuals to gain new perspectives, learn from each other’s successes and setbacks, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.
Engaging in group therapy can also provide patients with a sense of camaraderie and solidarity, which can be incredibly empowering and motivating. As members of the group work together toward common goals, they can inspire and uplift each other on their recovery journeys.
