About Delavan Comprehensive Treatment Center in Delavan, WI

Delavan Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), affiliated with Beloit CTC, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults who are struggling with opioid use disorder. We strive to create a welcoming environment where patients feel safe and empowered as they work toward recovery.

At our outpatient clinic, we understand that opioid addiction affects every person differently, which is why we create a personalized treatment plan for each patient. We combine the use of FDA-approved medications, such as methadone, with counseling services to address all aspects of our patients’ well-being.

Our team of experienced medical professionals and licensed counselors works together to deliver compassionate, person-centered care. We strive to help our patients reclaim their lives and create a future full of hope and new opportunities.

Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction

Medication-assisted treatment has become an essential tool in the fight against opioid addiction. The success of MAT lies in its ability to treat both the body and the mind. While medications relieve withdrawal symptoms, therapy helps individuals identify and work through the root causes of their struggles. This evidence-based method not only makes the early stages of recovery more manageable but also offers long-term solutions.

Opioids are a category of drugs that relieve pain by attaching to certain receptors in the brain and body. However, they also cause a surge in dopamine levels, resulting in a euphoric sensation. Over time, this alters the brain’s chemistry, making it difficult to experience pleasure without the drug, which fuels the cycle of addiction.

Medications used in MAT work by targeting the same receptors as opioids. For example, methadone and buprenorphine, classified as agonists, activate them to provide symptom relief, while naltrexone, an antagonist, binds to them to prevent the rewarding effects of addictive substances.

With the physical symptoms alleviated, patients can then focus on emotional healing. Counseling facilitates this process by offering an inviting space where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings. On this journey of self-discovery, patients can cultivate inner peace, develop coping skills, and build healthier habits.

Studies show that medication-assisted treatment leads to a variety of positive outcomes, such as:

  • Greater commitment to the recovery process
  • Improved mental clarity
  • Lower rates of overdose
  • Reduced risk for relapse
  • Higher life satisfaction
  • Enhanced relationships
  • Better performance at work

Value of Substance Abuse Therapy

At Delavan CTC, we incorporate both individual and group therapy into our treatment plans to provide patients with a well-rounded recovery experience. While individual therapy helps patients understand their behaviors and triggers, group therapy reminds them that they are not walking this path alone. By sharing their own experiences and listening to others, they can find strength in solidarity.

This blend of expert guidance and peer encouragement fosters both personal and collective growth. Patients gain valuable insights, practical strategies, and community support. These elements promote accountability, resilience, and connection.

Using the skills they acquired in therapy, patients can make small, impactful changes in their daily lives. For example, they can learn how to:

  • Explore other outlets for stress, such as exercise, deep breathing, and journaling
  • Communicate more clearly and resolve conflicts
  • Set and maintain boundaries in relationships
  • Manage overwhelming emotions
  • Practice self-compassion
  • Recognize early signs of relapse and know when to seek help

What To Expect at Delavan CTC

At Delavan Comprehensive Treatment Center, we prioritize your comfort and well-being from the moment you arrive. Our intake process begins with a comprehensive assessment and necessary bloodwork, including a TB test. This information helps us understand how we can best support you. Your custom treatment plan will include an FDA-approved medication as well as counseling sessions that align with your needs.

Additionally, we provide peak and trough testing to measure the levels of medication in your system. This allows us to see how effective the current dosage is and determine whether any adjustments are needed. We can also conduct other screenings to monitor your health status.

After completing the intake process, you’ll meet with our team of professionals, including counselors and medical staff. They are dedicated to guiding you throughout your recovery journey. You will also have the chance to engage with your peers, who can motivate you to keep moving forward.

At times when you feel uncertain or scared, we’ll be here to provide reassurance. With your courage and a network of support, you can overcome any obstacle and transform your life.
