About Easley Comprehensive Treatment Center

Conveniently located in Easley, South Carolina, Easley Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a premier provider of opioid addiction treatment for adults age 18 and older. Understanding the far-reaching impact of opioid addiction on every aspect of a person’s life, our team is committed to offering care that meets each patient where they are on their recovery journey.

At Easley CTC, we treat addictions to opioids such as heroin and prescription painkillers by using medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which has decades of research backing its effectiveness in helping people who are battling opioid addictions achieve recovery. MAT is noted by many professionals in the field to be the most effective treatment option, as it combines talk therapy with the use of prescription medications like methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone®. Talk therapy can give individuals support as they work toward making changes in their lifestyles and behavior, while medication can help ease the symptoms of withdrawal and prevent relapse.

The compassionate team at Easley CTC works closely with each patient to put together a personalized treatment plan that is tailored to meet their unique needs. This treatment plan can include the type of medication they will be prescribed and their schedule of counseling sessions.

While at our methadone clinic, each patient meets regularly with their treatment team to make sure that they are progressing well and to make any changes to their treatment plan if necessary. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who comes to our medication-assisted treatment clinic receives nothing short of high-quality, clinically excellent, effective care.

By choosing to get opioid addiction treatment at Easley CTC in Easley, South Carolina, you’re taking the first step toward a healthier and more fulfilling future — a future free from the grips of addiction.

Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction

Medication-assisted treatment is the most comprehensive method of opioid addiction treatment because it treats the whole person — mind, body, and spirit.

When a person abuses heroin, prescription painkillers, or other opioids, their body begins to rely on the substance to function normally, which means that they are physically dependent on the substance. If the person then stops using opioids, their body goes into a state of withdrawal while it tries to adjust to functioning without the substance. The symptoms of withdrawal can be uncomfortable and sometimes even painful. Common symptoms of withdrawal include:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Paranoia
  • Abdominal cramping
  • Muscle aches
  • Overwhelming anxiety
  • Agitation
  • Insomnia

As soon as a person who is in withdrawal uses another opioid, those symptoms stop. This is one of the main reasons why people remain trapped in the cycle of opioid abuse. They don’t want to feel the pain and discomfort that come with not using. When a person takes one of the prescription medications offered in MAT, however, their withdrawal symptoms can be alleviated without using opioids.

Another reason why people often remain stuck in the pattern of opioid abuse is because cravings for the substance can be overpowering. But in addition to easing withdrawal symptoms, the medications used in MAT can prevent those cravings, ultimately helping people refrain from relapsing into opioid use.

In addition to taking medication, people who receive MAT participate in group and individual counseling sessions, which gives them the psychological and social support they need to keep moving forward on their recovery journey.

What To Expect at Our Easley Opioid Addiction Treatment Clinic

When you come to Easley Comprehensive Treatment Center in Easley, South Carolina, you can expect to work with compassionate, dedicated team members who are committed to helping you reach your goals for recovery from opioid addiction. We recognize how hard it can be to make the decision to get treatment, and we want to make sure that you feel respected and cared for as you take this first brave step.

Prior to entering the MAT program at our methadone clinic, you will receive a thorough assessment that covers information such as your medical history, your current drug use, your past drug use, your family history, and your social history. We will also gather information about whether you have previously received treatment for addiction or other types of mental health concerns. Our team will then use this information to develop an individualized treatment plan that is tailored to meet your specific needs. All patients are also required to have a blood draw and be tested for TB.

At the start of your time in our program, you will meet with a clinician who will prescribe the medication that will be most helpful for you. They will also determine the appropriate dosage of the medication and outline the frequency with which you should take the medication. The clinician and other team members will be available throughout your time in our care to monitor the effects of the medication and to make any adjustments if necessary.

Additionally, you will participate in individual and group therapy sessions as part of the MAT program at our methadone clinic.

Group therapy gives patients an opportunity to meet with their peers, who can provide the support and encouragement that is so crucial to the recovery process. The group sessions are led by a qualified professional and include discussions on a variety of topics. Examples of the topics that may be covered include relapse prevention, identifying triggers, mending relationships, and developing and maintaining healthy boundaries. Group therapy is also a great place for patients to begin to develop a support network of people they can rely on throughout the rest of their recovery journey.

Individual counseling sessions take place one-on-one with a patient and a trained counselor. These sessions are fully confidential and are designed to give patients a safe space where they can discuss the challenges they have faced, address any fears they may have, and track their progress in treatment. Patients can also use this time to develop and practice coping skills that can help prevent future relapse.

I am so grateful for the staff at Providence CTC. I have been able to abstain from using Opioids for over 2 years with the help of Methadone.  I still am working every day on my recovery, and it gets easier every day.
