About Elkton Comprehensive Treatment Center in Elkton, MD
Elkton Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), which is conveniently located in Elkton, Maryland, is a respected provider of outpatient care for adults age 18 and older of all genders who have been struggling with opioid addiction.
Elkton CTC offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT), which employs prescription medication and counseling to help adults end their opioid use and successfully pursue long-term recovery from opioid addiction. MAT is a thoroughly studied form of treatment that has been successfully used in methadone clinics and other opioid treatment programs for decades.
Unlike methadone clinics that only offer one medication, Elkton CTC is able to provide methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone® to help patients stop using opioids without experiencing the intense distress of opioid withdrawal. A member of our medical staff meets with all new patients to determine which medication is best for them.
Therapies Used at Our Elkton Methadone Clinic
The medications that are used at methadone clinics can ease the symptoms of opioid withdrawal, but they cannot help a person develop the skills they will need to successfully walk the path of long-term recovery from opioid addiction. To help patients in this essential area, our center offers both individual and group counseling.
Individual counseling sessions are one-on-one meetings between a patient and a member of their treatment team. Individual sessions are confidential environments in which patients can address concerns they may be hesitant to discuss in a group setting, process their experiences, and receive focused feedback.
Group sessions at Elkton CTC typically involve one member of our staff and a small number of adults who are receiving MAT at our center. During groups, participants can gain valuable information about opioid addiction, treatment, and recovery; practice relapse prevention techniques; and gain an appreciation for the power of shared support.
Individualized Treatment for Opioid Addiction in Elkton, MD
The general description of treatment at our center in Elkton, Maryland, may sound the same for all patients: They complete assessments, they receive prescription medications, and they take part in counseling sessions. Yet within each of these experiences, we work diligently to ensure that patients receive individualized services in a welcoming and respectful environment.
The intake assessment ensures that our team has identified and is prepared to address the physical, emotional, and social impact opioid addiction has had on each patient’s life.
We work closely not only to identify the right medication for each patient, but also to determine the optimal dosage level so that they receive maximum benefit from this element of treatment.
During counseling sessions, the topics we address and the manner in which we address them may vary considerably depending on the strengths, needs, and goals of each participating patient.
Every person who receives care for opioid addiction at our center can expect to have a personalized experience that is designed to help them achieve successful long-term recovery.
