Winston-Salem CTC helps patients establish a strong foundation for opioid addiction recovery.

Is Winston-Salem CTC right for you?

Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers outpatient treatment for adults age 18 and older of all genders who are struggling with opioid use disorder. The center, which is located in Winston-Salem, NC, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

About Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center

At Winston-Salem Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) methadone clinic, we know how devastating an opioid addiction can be to a person’s life. People who are suffering from opioid addictions are often at risk for losing their careers, their most important relationships, and, tragically, their lives. But by getting opioid addiction treatment at a methadone clinic like ours, it’s possible to start living a life free from the bounds of opioid addiction.

Located in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina, our methadone clinic helps adults age 18 and older find recovery from addictions to fentanyl, prescription painkillers, heroin, and other opioids. Our approach involves using medication-assisted treatment, which combines medication and counseling to provide opioid addiction treatment that addresses the physical, emotional, social, and behavioral aspects of opioid addiction.

Through decades of work, researchers have found that medication-assisted treatment is a safe and effective method that can help people who are struggling with opioid addictions achieve better outcomes. The medications used in medication-assisted treatment can ease the impact of opioid withdrawal, and taking part in counseling can help patients make important behavioral and lifestyle changes that can promote recovery.

What sets Winston-Salem CTC apart from most methadone clinics is that we offer more than one medication as part of our medication-assisted treatment program, including methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone®, and naltrexone. Our staff of compassionate professionals is attuned to the fact that patients can have considerably different reactions to these medications. We’ll develop a personalized opioid addiction treatment plan for you that includes the type of medication, dosage, and various therapeutic components that can give you the best chance at the most optimal long-term outcome.

Working right alongside you throughout your time at our methadone clinic, our experts will monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your medication and opioid addiction treatment plan. Your struggles with an opioid addiction don’t have to stop you from living the life you deserve. With the support of our highly experienced team, you can rediscover hope for a better, brighter tomorrow.

Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction

We use medication-assisted treatment at Winston-Salem CTC methadone clinic because it has a proven track record of helping people who are struggling with opioid addictions find and sustain recovery. Research has also shown that medication-assisted treatment can help reduce a person’s chances of opioid overdose.

Medication-assisted treatment is often so effective because the medication component can alleviate the pain and distress associated with opioid withdrawal. When someone tries to stop using opioids, they usually suffer from things like muscle cramps, vomiting, chills, sweating, and powerful opioid cravings. Overwhelmed by this experience, many people start using opioids again so that they don’t have to continue feeling this way. But the medications used in medication-assisted treatment, like methadone and Suboxone® can keep you from craving opioids and minimize the physical discomfort that comes with opioid withdrawal.

Looking for a methadone or Suboxone® clinic near you is one of the first steps on your journey toward recovery from an opioid addiction. At Winston-Salem CTC methadone clinic, we know that each of our patients has a diverse set of needs. For this reason, we also offer buprenorphine and naltrexone in addition to Suboxone® and methadone. This allows us to provide you with opioid addiction treatment that may work best for you.

The way each of these medications works varies. However, they can all help support your recovery from an opioid addiction by reducing opioid cravings and alleviating the discomfort of withdrawal. Methadone is a medication patients take daily as a wafer, pill, or liquid, and it blocks the impact opioids have on the brain. Buprenorphine is usually taken as a tablet placed under the tongue, and it can lessen opioid cravings and diminish the impact of withdrawal. Naloxone reverses or blocks the impact opioids can have on a person’s brain, and it’s usually given as a nasal spray or an injection under the skin or into the muscle or vein. Suboxone® is a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone, and it’s typically taken as a film patients place under the tongue.

When searching for a methadone or Suboxone® doctor near you, know that the clinicians at Winston-Salem CTC methadone clinic are highly trained in using medication to provide opioid addiction treatment that promotes positive outcomes. Our goal is for you to achieve recovery that lasts well beyond your time at our methadone clinic.

Value of Substance Abuse Group Therapy

Everyone who deals with an opioid addiction has a different experience, which is why it’s best to avoid any methadone clinic that promotes a one-size-fits-all mantra. At our methadone clinic, Winston-Salem CTC, we make it our goal to understand exactly what you need before you begin substance abuse treatment.

Studies have shown that the most effective form of substance abuse treatment includes a strong therapeutic component. At our methadone clinic, we believe in this wholeheartedly, which is why we offer both individual and group therapy sessions to help you address the mental and emotional aspects of opioid addiction.

What often makes group therapy so beneficial is that you typically get the chance to listen to other perspectives you might not have otherwise heard. This can help you adjust the way you’ve been thinking about your own struggles with an opioid addiction, especially if those thoughts have been keeping you from achieving recovery.

You might also find that group therapy sessions allow you to develop camaraderie and discover that you aren’t alone on this journey. When you’re struggling with an opioid addiction, it can be isolating. The behaviors associated with opioid addiction can drive away friends, family, and coworkers, and it can be incredibly challenging to repair those relationships once the damage has been done. In group therapy sessions, a counselor will oversee discussions between you and other adults who are experiencing similar struggles.

In individual therapy, you’ll be paired with a trained professional who can help you unpack some of the decisions that led you to struggle with an opioid addiction and chart the best path forward. These sessions can also be an opportune time to talk one-on-one about topics you might not feel comfortable bringing up during group therapy.

Individual and group therapy can be excellent complements to medication because they can help you better understand opioid addiction and how it can impact your emotions and behaviors. By integrating a therapeutic component into substance abuse treatment, you can work with professionals who can guide you in developing the tools you need to resist the urge for opioids when you encounter certain triggers in your life. This powerful combination can support you in recovery that lasts.
